OhhHHHHH Boy!

Test, Manned test and Combat test of the 'Tube' holding the pyro have had successful results!

Thanks to Tyreal for the Thermobarics
Thanks to Major for being the test dummy! :good:

-- attachment is not available --

I think the 2nd picture is the result of the flash from the thermo offsetting the exposure on the camera, the flash looks to have engulfed Major, but was actually quite small!

Tube was a little warm, but not red hot. The nature of the thermobaric means the force goes out of each end of the tube, rather than against the walls of the tube. Going to make an inner barrel to hold the charge, and some bolts to go through the tube, so that plod is satisfied that it will not be able to launch anything.

Makes quite an impressive FWOOOOOM noise too, instead of BANG

It did look and sound great when i was taking the footage, its going to look mint when its finished and you've got a handle on it.

"Follow me, i'm lost too!"

What, apart from the fact that that PIAT wasn't introduced until about '42? For Aerial, you'd need a Boys Anti-tank Rifle!

The krauts then picked up one which they had got from the ruskies (american land lease etc) and designed there riot shield clad monstrousity but with the added bonus of doing away with the batteries and replaced with an ingenious dynamo hand crank armiture charging gizzo operated as the trigger was squeezed and released :good:

Which the yanks then got hold of and thought..ace. 'But we'll do away with the riot sheild and make it foldable, :P , and we'll give it optical sights :P ' and the M9 was born.

Thus ends the diatribe

I like Buck Rogers Guns (another bit of yank slang for ya  )

I spoke to No1_sonuk about this about a month ago and he thinks he could make a PIC unit to give a 5 shot capacity and a reset key switch option so you can have the key back at CP tied to a ammo box or a tree etc :good:

And I should be able to get to that in the next couple of weeks.

Good I would think it should be quite easy to make a laser receptor with some red plastic over it as a filter.

What sort of price are the PIC's?

Usually less than 2GBP, especially for that application.
